The following article will try to summarize the events of the past few weeks (and probably future ones).
It all started by Andrea´s phone call (at Wednesday evening, 23rd of March) that Jack does not want to eat, not important information, which needn´t be important for somebody, but for those who know Jack it´s big issue, because normally is Jack a great lover of food.
When he didn´t eat also in the morning, we went our vet, but she didn´t found anything unusual, so she took him blood for the tests and we waited for the results. In the afternoon they called us that it looks like a stomach inflammation and deseased liver, so they prescribed a diet of liver (tins and biscuits) and antibiotics.
But it didn´t help, Jack didn´t want anything to eat, only water (served hypodermic). Also with antibiotics we had problem, because it was pastilles and he didn´t eat anything, but I managed manually the ingurgitation.
Next day we went back by the vet, Jack´s condition didn´t improve, also we warned that his chest is increasing, but they only appeased us that “this is normal, because he is “hound” and hounds have bigger chest. So, we returned back home and had to continue with the treatments.
At Friday night I had to go to the Austria like a shadow judge and my mom with Andrea promised that this is OK, that they will take a care about Jack and when they won´t give him the antibiotics they will visit the vet for the injection (so on Saturday he gave the antibiotics injection).
FORTUNATELLY on Sunday those vets have closed so our mom decided to take Jack to other veterinary clinics where ordain also on Sunday, again for the antibiotics injection. It was the decision where all saints were by us.
As soon as they saw Jack he gave the dropping funnel and the vet decided that Jack has to go to the sono, because his chest was incredible big. Sono investigation told only that Jack´s chest is full of some liquid and it seems like his entrails are break, more can disclose only the operation. So my mom called me to the Austria and I had to decide about the operation, in the meantime the main vet MVDr. Langer came from home to realize the Jack´s operation. He said to my mom that she can go home and he will phone them, more longer he will call the better for Jack.
About two hours later the phone rang, that Jack has survived the operation and the diagnosis was “spleen overspeeding”. Fortunately, the spleen wasn´t turn completely, but turned into a U-shaped, so it didn´t mean instant death, the liquid which they saw in sono was the content of his stomach!!! So we can say that the operation realized within a “second of twelve”, maybe in equal twelve, because Jack had the urea in the blood and he will probably die next day... !!!
After three sleepless nights Jack was incredibly relaxed in anesthesia. My mom said she was breathing fine and happy than he waked up, even little snored :-)
I came home from Austria at 2 o´clock at night, it was evident how much Jack looked better, even he slightly swished his tail when we went to hug him :o) The second day he began to eat!!!
Now after 4 weeks he is fine, only one worry, which we have are the stitches, which don´t want to scar , but we hope it will be better soon... :-)
